If you need to control your server via a terminal, PuTTY is one of the best and most popular options available. It is an emulator that supports several network protocols, such as SSH and Telnet, and lets you connect to remote servers by logging into them and executing commands.
The tool to connect to a remote server through different protocols.
Plutonium TeleTYpe features include host storage, Secure Shell (SSH) control, support for IPv6, 3DES, AES, RC4, Blowfish, and DES, the ability to work as a client for the SCP (pscp) and SFTP (psftp) command line, SSH port forwarding, and VT102, ECMA-48, and xterm terminal emulators. This tool supports Telnet, Remote Login, SSH (Secure Shell), and TCP raw protocols.
To connect to a server through this tool just follow these steps:
- Step 1: Enter the IP or hostname of the remote server.
- Step 2: Select the port.
- Step 3: Choose the protocol to be used.
- Step 4: select Open.
Among the advantages that PuTTy offers over other similar solutions, we have that it offers a simple and manageable user interface, it is in continuous development (so it is constantly being improved), and it has an open-source license (so it can be used freely and for free).
